Every time my SS2 patches it hashes once, then patches in files, then hashes again, and hashes a final 3rd time. It takes like 5 minutes for each hash. Is it supposed to do this or is it just me?

Got to play for about an hour.. got too much lag. rebooted, tried to start it again, back on Hash #5 already, and they are SLOWER. What the heck is this multi-hashing?
OK, verified. It will hash at least once every single time I start the game. If I leave the checkbox marked to Launch when complete, the patchbot locks up, and crashes at the end, but if I close the patchbot when it is finished, then start the game, it does another hash, which I had been doing. I have to run the patchbot hash, unselect the checkmark, but then click the launch button to be able to play. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Does anyone have a manual solution, a file that the patchbot looks at and is not updating that I can change? |

The patchbot needs to stop Hashing every damn time on launch and just save the previous hash to file. This would save so much damn time.

the patchbot is not supposed to be launched with the client everytime. its only launched when the server tell the client its outdated.

I understand what you mean, but I am talking about when it does need to update. The hashing is incredibly slow and resource intensive. Hashing is currently the longest part of installing the game, hell I would be happier if it would just download the updated files instead of bothering with the first hashing procedure just to save time. I don't understand why it *NEEDS* to hash before updating anyways. Even if your files are up to date it still will re-hash re-download every single one of them if you would manually launch the patchbot. Again, just save the stupid hash from the last time it ran.

because the hashing is how it know your files are up to date (and give a layer of security to prevent hacked exe and other badies).
I did make it hash about 3 times less today on the other hand. (before, update would hash the whole thing twice, an update with patchbot updated too would hash 3 times, now it all hash once (unless there is some problem preventing the patch). _________________ One of the first and proud flight controller.
