Post The Pit
instanced room off lobby arena. same as colo (drones and stuff respawns, no GG lost). It's purpose is for when you want to duel people without having some other player interfere. thoughts?

can't leave squad once in an instance iirc :P but the basic idea is good imo

Put a limit on how many times engi's can lay drones in colo. they always ruin the fun in colo

A pit would be great. Instance it so that it just accepts the first two players to warp in, the next two get a separate instance. Put the warp by a high vis sun so that mischievous seers can't wreck the fun so easily by warping in before the second person.
Even better- provide a way for other players to view the action in the pit from outside somehow.

Instances are locked to squads, so a rework of the instancing code would have to come into play.

I agree that, eventually, we will need to have the ability to do pure 1v1 scenarios. How that happens is apparently up to debate.

Run it through an AI base, and make the warp to the pit require a key. Player docks, collects a set of two keys, tosses one to the opponent and they can warp in together (key is destroyed on warp).

Whether it is one instanced warp, or a series of "pits" (dark suns, big suns, no suns, asteroids, etc) you can get keys for, this could be a good idea.

To watch the fights, from the same base you could purchase a "Spectator Ship" size 1, 0 hull, built in engine, invulnerability and incapable of warping out of arena. Make the ship -10000 vis or undetectable on radar so there is uninterrupted battle experience for the 1v1. Basically just enough speed to watch the fights but unable to be annoying or get in the way.

Hmm....the 3 warp triangle is nice though. I say add this as a warp in the Colosseum that just sends you like 500k out, kinda like Labyrinth.
