OnLive is a really neat service you are able to play pc or console games anywhere. I want to be able to play ss anywhere again and his would be a neat way to get publicity. OnLive supports indie games a lot unless I'm mistaken so I think they'd like ss.
http://www.onlive.com/ Plus I wanna play ss on my iPad. What do you all think about ss being on OnLive? _________________ (landswimmer) Jey is like the liquid terminator crossed with ron jeremy. he doesnt stay dead, and he never stops coming. |

Why can't you play SS2 anywhere you could play SS1? Also, you can't just port it to the ipad, it doesn't work like that. Someone has to make an entirely new touch-only UI(not sure if you noticed, the thing has no buttons on it, have fun!), then someone else has to potentially noobify all the models and textures to maybe be able to run. Not to mention storage space is a limiting factor. OnLive only streams to PC's and Consoles, so not sure how it's different. If you thought you had bad lag normally, try having in-game graphics and server resources being double-routed through their servers, then back to the SS servers. Again, have fun. _________________ uhmari wrote: When i look at uhmari, I can see clearly the problems in it |

Just look at what onlive does... It streams video games magically over the Internet. Little processing power required just a decent Internet connection. And iPad can have Bluetooth peripherals IE: keyboard. Touchscreen makes mouse obsolete.

Look at what games they have on their site. Saints row, arkam city... You can play any game, anywhere, on any Internet connected device.

The full touchscreen interfaces don't build themselves.... I think a web-site integration for base management would be a better use of time spent. No access to any ships, but you could manage your bases builds, toss commods etc.

Or the devs could make the game content.
You know, the stuff that's been lacking around here and causing players to quit. _________________ Blue Dwarf wrote: In space, no one can hear you cha cha cha. |

Quote: Touchscreen makes mouse obsolete. That is so full of fail that I dont even know where to begin....Good luck playing a game like SS with a touchscreen. If you're going to use a keyboard then the whole point of playing on your ipad is lost, you wont be able to hold it so you need somewhere to put it down at a good angle so you can see the screen. You then need a table or something to put down the keyboard on because you cant hold that either. |

You then need a table or something to put down the keyboard on because you cant hold that either. This argument pretty much shuts down any reason to even try and develop for tablets. Why get an ipad when you can get a netbook for about the same price that can run SS no problem on low, and has a keyboard and mouse built-in? The entire idea for tablets is retarded; they don't fill any void that a laptop or netbook can't do already. It's just a bigger iphone that can't make calls... Nice. _________________ uhmari wrote: When i look at uhmari, I can see clearly the problems in it |
