This and Zen of Capacity wouldn't be so bad, actually. +100 speed is too powerful, though, so it'd have to be capped lower I think.

If this is going in it should probably be a % bonus based on your original speed (doesn't multiply at all with anything EXCEPT for negative effects, unlike zen of range). Speed seems rather broken as a fixed bonus though. I'd rather have an extension of the current bar skills or something. _________________ Space for rent! |

How about four zens!? Zen of the north, south, east, and west! Getting Zen of the West makes you go faster to the west and slower to the east ^_^

Zens are interesting (not necessarily balanced) because they are absolute bonuses. I'm not sure whether small, SP-costly absolute bonuses to hull and speed are warranted but that would definitely be a approach from the usual bar skills.

adding a hard cap on speed is just a no in my opinion. increasing speed to ships that have low speed as a direct balancing perspective only breaks it. for instance the Unforge.

+1 speed per zen, only goes up to 25 and costs 4 times the sp per skill.

As Beel says, it'd be amazing for ships with low base speed (thinking Prawn here) and also for Zerkers, assuming it wouldn't be affect by augs and class skills. Perhaps a bit too amazing, but still...

a +25 speed boost on combat ships would just be so useful, especially on Ass Behe shms that only go 45 speed :O
