There should be wise, upright, and cunning individuals who should join in the dev meeting, to ensure things are properly discussed. This way we can have more "ingame knowledgable" and socially knowledgable in regards to the opinion of the common people. This way, we can have more expressed opinions in place for the ones who play, understand, and discuss the game the most. The common people are surrounded with bits, and sometimes large amounts of insight and creativity. Therfore, only good will come from wise ambassadors who have the ear of said people. Finding people worthy of being an ambassador is not very hard, we are surrounded by resepected and inteligent people. Also to add to this, class ambassadors should also be added. Someone with knowledge and understanding of their class.
I nominate enkelin. Hell, he could probobly calculate the statistics of the agreement of this suggestion in itself _________________ "Just wait till' I get my hermes..." Jiraque wrote: It's a seer thing. Paxx wrote: Use that yellow thingy on that zerk! |

Skyfyre, Spatzz, Kyp, Yurble, Fnor.
Thats my vote. Tried to keep it one guy one team, though Kanga looked good if their was an LC to go with him. For classes, I'd say: Speed Demon: Enkelin or Wex Seer: FFs V or Blizzara Shield Monkey: Fugue Fleet Commander: ? Gunner: Laptop Boy or Dark Phantom Engineer: Biggee or KC Berserker: Kanga or Tech9 Sniper: ? |

a lot of the dev volunteering to help are knowledgeable players. So that whole topic is kinda useless....
If those people want to be dev and contribute to meeting and stuff and that they know their stuff, chances are pretty high that if they ask for it they would get in xD. Content development is a pain in the ass (as far as im concerned), but its not exactly "complicated" so long as you have imagination and are able to read you can pretty much make anything (not to mention a lot of the volunteering dev doesnt do much except being in meeting and stuff) so there is already "ambassadors" as you named it. _________________ One of the first and proud flight controller. We used to have player-dev meetings, but they never stuck around that long. I'm not sure how or when programmers organize themselves, but players in content meetings is definitely a no-no.
As Jey said, it's not hard to be a content dev as long as you can read and have some computer knowledge, the hard part is good ideas, trustworthiness and actually knowing how to do what you want to do. _________________ "What you mean you killed him cha cha cha?!" Support |

It's not a bad idea. Luckily, we already do this! Whenever a new dev starts talking on the forum, where do you think that person came from?

What about class ambassadors to speak in class related dev meeting? Im sure there is a place for someone who knows the inner linings of his class, the ins and outs. Anything added could alter, or cause to consider and/or reconsider certain topics pertaining to a conversation. I believe anyone who is obsessed with there class, and reaches to new heights for it, has many personally held ambitions and ideas as to were and how there class should be handled to maintain balance in the force.

Again, we are those people. We are the players who had the knowledge, experience, and drive to join the dev team as volunteers. I didn't forget everything I knew about class balance when I became a dev. If any player listed in this thread or otherwise thinks they have what it takes, just PM Bageese.

Between us (content and QA devs) we have just about every class covered. Anyone who would be any sort of part in a content meeting would need to have signed an NDA (thus be over 18) and even if we had a separate meeting type thing, I'd still want them all NDA'd because of current plans. It's hard to explain how one thing would fit to public without explaining bits that shouldn't be explained. _________________ "What you mean you killed him cha cha cha?!" Support |
