This might already be in, but this came to mind when I was changing my weapons :p (omg I change my weapons?!)

Is it possible to somehow deselect which weapons E toggles through? Like if you have modded weapons you won't use in battle, you could set them as inactive or something, and only the active weapons would toggle with E.

you can hotkey your weapons now, so get exactly what you want with the mods you want!

but the OP sounds much more useful to me, especially if i am already using hotkeys for numerous other things.

On this note, exactly how many hotkeys will we have in C2? Will we have Alt+(any key) as hotkey options?

As it is I could easily have 10 different drones hotkeyed before i even consider warp devices, grav disruptions, etc, etc.

As many as your screen can fit. In other words, if you have money, you have an advantage. I thought we fixed that when it became bannable to sell for RL cash?

Yes and no. Yes, I'm trolling. No, I'm actually serious.
The larger your screen, the more you can fit on it. If I spend 600$ more for a screen twice as big, I have an advantage over someone whose stuck with a computer size intended for SS.

All resolutions can fit at least 9 hot keys. And you can still assign to the limit the number of hot keys even if you cant see all of them. Deal with it.

But what is the upper limit for hotkeys? The number of buttons on your keyboard? What about combinations (Ctrl+, Alt+, Shift+)?

Right now, the first 10 "hotkeys" on the top bar are tied to the keys 1-9,0, and the ones beyond that aren't tied to any key, but you can assign things to them and click on them to trigger. I'm thinking after "0", it should continue with F1, F2, etc, but still not totally decided. And I don't see anything wrong will still allowing you to assign things to a hotkey via the context menu on an item, so doing that, you could hotkey as much as anyone else, and only display the icons in the top bar for as much as your monitor can fit.

We're talking about using alt+hotkey and ctrl+hotkey as "equip 1" and "unequip 1", rather than equipping the whole stack as happens when you hit the key and the thing it's assigned to is currently unequipped.

so currently when i hit my Solar Intake hotkey on my pax, it equips all 7 of my solar intakes. Now if i scoop a Solar Intake in the dg giving me a total of 8 intakes, and hit my hotkey nothing happens cuz 8 is too many. Can you make hitting the hotkey equip as many as possible, much like bases only equip as many of an extractor as possible?

Also, you can't hotkey equip a passive radar :|

This would be very nice indeed, for things like swapping radars, microwarpers, untanglers, cloud storms and other items with charging.
