Loose the semi 3D effect in the Universe Map... its not helpful at all and in most cases its downright useless and a waste of programming effort. Make it flat like SS original.
Also open it up and no dropping gals over each other. I've only mapped a small portion of the galaxy, but they are not well displayed and EF Space around Sol is a NIGHTMARE. |

i too hated the uni map in the beginning, but after quite a lot of tweaking its looking great. Galaxy dots are slightly smaller, texts is easier to read and tons of other small tweaks to make it generally cooler .
Sadly beta probably wont be updated before release so you wont get to play with the new map, but ill post some screenshots later today, right now my client is not in compilable state). _________________ One of the first and proud flight controller. Visit our website: http://www.ef-team.com |

I really like the tapered warp connections we have on the map right now, as compared to the new straight ones. Any chance they could be changed to something like that at some point in the future?

nothing is impossible !
Although yea, the current one is functional, its not ugly on the eye and it wont lag your client to a crawl whenever you open it (well, it still has an impact but its way faster than it was on the beta client lol). _________________ One of the first and proud flight controller. will unexplored gates show as stubs off the galaxy on the map like in c1?. that annoyed the hell out of me on the beta that i had to note on paper that there was a route I hadnt explored from a gal.

In the beta alot of DG/station indicators ended up coverd by the Gal dot itself, has this been fixed?

I think so. The gal dot has been reduced to about half the size it was, and the dots for DG's and stuff are still the same size as before. All the sizes and placements of everything are in parameter constants, so it's easy to mess with if we need to adjust something slightly still.
