C1 was the place where teams didn't screw you over for no reason.

C1 was an epic polished turd. C2 is a diamond buried in a massive pile of unfinished work.

We liked C1 because it's not C2.
I like mass murders because they're not C2. Timmeh _________________ andezrhode2a wrote: Timmeh is the exception to every rule. Battlecruiser23 wrote: /Timmeh! I mean /signed! sabre198 wrote: 1. Create C2 2. Time Warp quits 3. New players join 4. ... Profit?!? |

I think one of the strongest appeals of C1 was the raw accessibility of it. There are so many things in C2 that are vastly superior, but I do agree that something just isn't quite easy enough about it. I'm starting to suspect that the tooltips on items are subtly frustrating me, as is object picking with the mouse.

You could see where ships started and finished, it was easier to work out where (and what) all the different particles and ships on the screen were. Idk if it's just me but C2 seems a bit more blurry, smoothed off, and a lot darker. I just find that harder to work with. There are a lot of improvements, it's just graphically I'm yet to be convinced (not that they're bad graphics, they're high quality, just not as practical as the C1 ones yet imo). Kanga Ever since C2 has came in, mine and my slaves visibility have been doubled. In sol in C1, my vis would be 1 - 2, now its at 4-6. Also I hate the C2 Collision Code. Invisible slaves get shot at when the bullets are aimed at you, whereas in C1 it would miss them completely >.< _________________ |

Another thing that really bugs me is that there is visibly more latency in C2. You can easily see this by firing a beam with mediocre tracking while circling around a target; the server will frequently overcompensate for your turning and fire off the beam in random directions. In the same vein, I never know which way I'm facing when a gremcannon hits me; I literally have to fire my weapon to see which way it goes. I don't need to emphasize how annoying this is for Speed Demon in particular. What's the deal? _________________ Hi, I'm Anil, a long-time player turned developer. well lag wise, up to yesterday patch, the server was way slower than it used to be (as in 2-3times slower), it had all sorts of impacts. The server lag has mostly been fixed with yesterday's patch, so that should be a lot better.

Yesterday I had one client running with 5-6 fps, today I have two clients with 14-15 fps on each, almost no lag at all. Incredible :p Kanga _________________ Illegitimi Non Carborundum |
