Of all the problems that SS has, other than maybe gamebreaking bugs, I think that selection code should be at the very top of the list. You literally notice it every second you play the game; some items just take priority over others, and nothing you can do will fix it. If an asteroid is under my battlecruiser slave, I just cannot select the asteroid, and it's pissing me off!
I mean, it's these things. The little things. They're what drive the long-term players away. Beginners wont notice them as much, or they'll assume there's a way around it, but older players just get pissed off and quit! And because so many of us play because there are other people we know online, if none of us are willing to wait for other people to show up, it creates a self-perpetuating cycle where there's never anyone online! It should be at least as functional as it was in c1.

The sad thing is that the code in C1 was completely functional and very easy to learn. There was no reason to change it.

They said they didint change it and it was functioning as it was in C1. Thats what jey told me via IRC when I reported it during beta, thats what they tell everyone about everything that they didint change ANYHTING and it works just OKAY. |

Which bug are you referring to? The one where after you equip something, the wrong item is highlighted and an immediate sell can sell the wrong thing, or the bug with the highlight on a highlighted item being too narrow, or something else?

No. The one where if a EFdread is on top of something it is physically and graphically impossible to click on anything inside of it. Makes it impossible to dock in space stations with statised ships on top of it.

'Object' is a better word, sorry for the confusion. Object meaning Spaceships, Asteroids, Suns, Moons, Bases, debris, coins, etc. If a larger spaceship is on top of a smaller object, it is impossible to select something underneath it.
