Suitability seems much lower than I've seen it previously. I've also found much less T2/3 than I'd expect for the number of galaxies scanned.

The distribution of 'extreme' galaxies, filled with blistering or freezing planets seems to be way out of proportion compared to the number of 'hospitable' galaxies with a greater number of temperature suns in them.

Same. Considering DF 250+ and scanned alot of gals: Very little tier 2/3 commods and virtually all the planets need work on suitability for colonies. Nothing leaps out and screams, "Pick Me"!

But maybe the overall picture is the same but spread over a much wider area. I'll make do with what I have. I've had it worse before.

60 planets 60 moons. 2 planets were 100% suit, 2 planets were 75% suit. Other 25 of my colonies started out at 37% suit. One source of plat and that is it (out of 120 possible locations). No good prod planets. One source of plenty baobabs.

Definately worse. Jeff says nothing has been changed.

The first uni we switched to the new map we had an over abundance of t2/3 and colos planets were all over the place. The two unis since that one have felt rather empty. Was nothing at all changed?

But is it that bad overall that the amount of easy made colony planets are lower, and that commodity sources are less frequent? The up side of this is that it makes room for competition, but the down side is that no team wishes to use 80% connector kits in their team space just to reach that one galaxy quite a few jumps off of the rest of their team space.

We're talking about one of the main reasons to go p2p for new players. To get those rarer commods and better planets/gals are a big driving factor.

As thermal points out, i dont consider this as incentive to bvb. Simply because you have to bvb through 10 gals just to get 1 gal that is "ok". Not to speak of the connector kits you have to place all the way to that 1 galaxy.

In another thread I argued that bvb should be rewarded with gals (pop and commods) and not base contents, now that argument becomes weak when the intrinsic value of gals is this low.. seriously its rock after rock from what I scanned.
