current ui feels 2 much of a chaos and total mess, like this

Dev's have problems with visualising things though, could you do a proper version for their benefit? Orelse they will take this idea and we will end up with C3

Much superior to your idea since it's nice and minimalistic while still allowing for target floaties (one of the great innovations of C2) and organizing all the necessary information neatly. Would be nice to have "dockable windows" too, i.e. you can dock them on one side of the screen (top, left, right and bottom), and you can then lock them, so that you cannot move them. They would also reduce the size of the play screen in that manner (like it was in C1).
And dockable windows would fit perfectly with floflo02's suggestion, with the small addition that you can choose which windows to dock And if possible, add some 'tabbing' to it as well, so you can dock multiple windows of same type (like inventories of several of your ships, e.g. slaves) in the same area. Don't understand dockable windows? Most professional editors or programming IDE's (like Eclipse for Java coding) support it |

Not possible to do a total c1 UI remake yet afaik, since we can't define the centre of the screen where the ship is. If we were to have a UI with a bar on the left, then you would want your ship to be placed further to the right, so it was centred between the left bar edge and the right edge of the screen. Also, again I'm not sure if this has been changed but I think the squad icons at the top right are hard coded in, or maybe the location can be changed, maybe jey can enlighten us.
