careful of nerfing it to the point only a handful of people can make it work. its a fun weapon.

players: nerf it
admins: its been nerfed
wise one: nerf it harder
admins: nerf+
players: its useless now
wise one: i know a sekret setup that makes it still viable
players: what about us we was having fun using the weap
wise one: joo is nub haha

Too true. But the proposed stats on Bursts still seem perfectly useful if not still a bit OP.

The age of a computer isn't really a measurement of how much lag a computer can handle. A lot of players complained about it, and it is the same as the Andaman Gourd. This is exactly why the heat damage Clench has too high damage. Heat and surgical damage have a lower DPS modifier than laser and energy, and there is no balance sheets for thoraxes to suggest what is balanced. Even if the DPE is somewhat lower than for what we're normally used to when speaking of thoraxes, I don't think this is a good way to balance it.

Generally I prefer multiple small tweaks instead of single major nerf. Nerfed Bursts are much worse than before and if those stats are still too OP, they can be nerfed again later.

Of course it is strong. That's the nature of having weapon with tracking and range combined with self damage for ultimate raw power. Rarity of bursts and requiring multiple characters for sustaining justifies their OPness. I'm sure two snipers with clenches will outDPS single burst sniper.

Everything is balanced until 3 fcs triple amp you, continuously. I don't think the amp devices were really thought out, they give ridiculous burst potential. Or even perma sustained burst if you have enough FCs and coordination to stagger them forever.
