Post Permanent Drones Update
Over the past weeks we've been busy working on improving the permanent drones across the board. All these drones listed have received a huge beef compared to what they once were.

Community Additions:

Warpastic Drone+, obtainable via Ruby Steppes (splashing Warpastic drone).
Armada Ambush Mine

This includes a set of new specialised drones that are focused around similarity to the XYZ base gear content where you can invest into building some defensive platforms.

These come in two variants from Apollo to Annihilator:
- Platform which is the defensive side that's DPS drones with base pulses
- Defender which is solely around HPS that includes base healing transference's.

These drones can be seen at the top row of drones in the screenshot.

Redid Armada Drone Visuals: more screenshots here.

Added some special abilities to each drone. Blog posted about this!

Armada Ambro drone has 2 mini rhino fighters it can launch.
Armada Ambush has holoprojector of duplicates.
Armada Bastion now has a superitem weapon.
Armada Defender now has a point defence superitem and Armada spitter superitem.

Some drones will receive pre-installed augmenters (cannot be Augmented, will have a comment in the description describing that they come with augmenters):
Attached Magic Attack (Minor Recovery Augmenter + Hestia Augmenter).
Attached Mining Defender (2x Adonis Assault + Adonis Electric Augmenter + Adonis Radar Augmenter).
Armada Ambrosia Drone (Platform Augmentation Gamma + Station Mechanic's Augmenter).
Armada Ambush Mine (2x Sup. Radar Augmenters).

Yes the beef was focused around putting augmenters on the existing drones. The new defensive and platform ones you can't.

What about the armada ambush mine?

Will the annihilator defender be superior to the armada ambrosia drone?

Nihilite, Warptastic and Qafir drones were always more a way to deliver grems than dps, why did you beef them? more tank?

Did you give warptastics a splashing weapon so they can adequately prevent groups of players as opposed to 1 player from getting past?

Edit:
Do attached drones still take up valuable base slots on a planet and have they been given more range to compensate?

Looking from the testing figures the Armada Ambrosia Drone will be better than Annihilator Defender but if you look at it from a range perspective then it would be better the other way round.

Nihilite, Warptastic and Qafir drones were always more a way to deliver grems than dps, why did you beef them? more tank?
Yes, essentially more shield bank to prevent DPS bursting in a single amplification from a Fleet Commander.

No, the Warpastics still perform a single laser shot effect like they do currently.

Yes, its still the same mechanic as it is currently.

Its gonna be the same toss and scoop mechanic, this was just to beef the existing perm drones.

What do you mean when you say we'll have to invest in the new defender/platform drones? Can they be rescooped? Do they require a large amount of metals/silicon/nuclear waste to build?

I suspect they may overshadow existing perma drones whilst being way cheaper, especially if the armada ambrosia drone still has terrible range.

Yes, the Armada Ambrosia Drone has slightly better range but is still terrible.

This perma drone rebalance was pretty overdue. Glad to see it's been done. I have high hopes for the new and updated drones! Keep it up Pixel, you're the best :)

I think the armada ambrosia drone needs to have at least a secondary shield transference with more range. Otherwise it's going to remain subpar as each drone can only heal a couple of bases, as opposed to the other drones healing anything in the galaxy. Not to mention using up all those planet slots...

Well the Armada Ambrosia Drone has 500 range (tested with a Adonis Assault and Station Mechanics). Say if you put a Platform Gamma Augmenter on it, it should reach 1k range roughly~.

In that instance it'd cover 1 planet and its moons, which only allows for a few drones and STM kits at best. In comparison I could spam 30 andaman drones and have them all healing the same bases.

I'm not seeing why the armada ambrosia drones would win in that situation, especially considering their far greater cost.
