Post Hi there, new player here.
Hi there, as the title says I am a new player.

I have a few suggestions to make.

1) First, let everyone post suggestions to the game not only subscribers.

2) Create an easy way to change characters in game.
Place it in the same menu as logout and exit.
Currently you have to logout and log back in to change characters.

3) Can you take a look at the pirate character start again please.
I have 2 characters now, been here for 2 days.
The first was a cadet, played it for about 6 hours, ran through the missions available and my ship got upgraded 3 times, better engines, better weapons, better gear and a ton of money.

The new character is a pirate, no missions.
I have been playing the new character for about the same amount of time, 6 hours now. No upgrades, no missions, no new equipment. The tutorial bot said something about leaving the nebula to meet the other pirates but nothing after that. So it is pretty much a wasted character at this point as I am unable to buy anything, upgrade anything etc. etc. etc.

Thanks,

I look forward to spending a long time here, looks like a great game so far.

I think any account can make a suggestion post on the forums.

The character select button has been wanted for years, not sure why it's not done yet.

As for pirate start, I'll have someone take a look at it for you, and your character.

That all said, welcome to the game and I hope you stay around :).

Hello, thanks for the feedback. I would also like to have a "switch character" button. Hopefully we can get one of the client UI devs to make that happen for us. Regarding your question about the Pirate side of the Nexus, it's actually meant to have less hand-holding than the Cadet side, but we might not have pushed that to the UI yet so you can be informed about the choice. It is intended for people who want more of a sandbox feel in the early game. However, we can take another look in case there is something truly broken there.

Thank you for the quick replies.

Regarding the pirate thing.
I do not mind it not being a hand holding experience, the sandbox thing works.
There just is not the same opportunities as there is for the cadet.
If you are a FTP player you can not PVP except for the arena and that limits your targets to AI ships only.

When I played the cadet I got my first ship upgrade and all that new gear paid for from mission rewards.

When you are a pirate and you first start out in the scrapyard sector your reward is a feeble 29 credits at a time for the early ships. Very hard to earn that 560k for the first ship upgrade that way.

The Pirate side was broken, I fixed the issue and play tested it and the missions work perfectly now. As soon as a micropatch goes in you should have no problems continuing from where you left off.

Thank you for that, I was reading the wiki and it said there were missions and you started in the Volcom training grounds which of course I did not.

Should I wait until a new patch and start a new character??

Thanks again.

You don't need to start a new character, just go back to the starting area after the micropatch. This should be happening in the next 4 hours or so.
