Post subject:  Possible final farewell

As some of you know I have been inactive for a few months and given most of my accounts away to my team.

First I want to thank Resident Evil for being a great team, I been your director for around 5 years with pride. We been trough many wars, ups and downs. But always been 1 team!
I would also like to thank all other players for the great time I had the past 10+ years.
I also want to thank all the devs for the years up till 2013 or so for the great content.

As for from around 2013, I started to realise that the game gone downhill a lot with a few ups and many downs. Priority seems to be going weird places. Bugs get fixed mainly because they are abuseable (duping, easy lvling (3k-4k in an hour) capturing bug (500 lvls a capture instead of 500 xp)), if gamebreaking for the players most stay for years (subspace spawnrates (100s of AI in a gal etc.), HQ map after a crash gone (was it ever different?). Just look in bug forums, there are many still left from years ago).

Jeff doesn't seem to be around for the past years, sometimes he pops up and say hi shows his new skills and goes away again. Communication still seems to be low.

Today I logged in just to remind me why I was inactive in the first place.

Hope this game goes back to the old days where content was fun, the game was challenging and devs know what to do. This game might be fun for the new players and low levels, but once you see the whole picture or start to do t20+ content.

I might be lurking the forums for a few days or I might not, until this game seems to go the direction I like it to be, I won't return. If that never happens I would like you all to have a great time and have fun!

Bye!

Don't think you ever got on Discord to request any changes, but good knowing you anyway.

I did, talked to Suit a bit about stuff. But haven't heard from him ever since then.
Didn't take it to the puplic discord because of the reasons giving in the OP, he seemed to be one of the few that took it more serious (in the end still nothing).

Was a great time knowing you! 2010-2012 were great years (not only because C2 was still delayed).

Will miss ya tibbit, but to each their own. Good luck in wherever you go from here.

That said, you really should get on the Discord. It's where the action, both dev and non, is these days. The old All chat is present in the general channel there.

EDIT: And at least stick around so you can see the next patch. It's only a day or so away and like DarkSteal says, it really is a book. I'm not even a dev and I know that.

Your timing is very ironic, I suggest you hang around for a few more days.

Yeah, just have read a bit (first 10 pages), I'm impressed. Seems like its going the right way (I like the BvB fix (DPS/HPS priority).

Maybe I will be taking a look around this week on a F2P or so cuz boredom.

I wish. Developers won't officially acknowledge longstanding problems, let alone ask for feedback on how the community wants to solve them, and patches like today's come once a year if that. That's not the heartbeat of a thriving game.

Look at BDO, every 2 weeks, we see balance changes, bug fixes, events, etc, etc, etc. Every ~6 months we see an entirely new area with as much scale as Skyrim, in both size and content. They have the framework in place to constantly add to the game at a breakneck pace, and the proper teams set in place to maintain a constant flow of changes and updates. If it weren't for my keyboard and GPU being so garbage, I'd be playing it right now.

Star Sonata has one giant clump of developers and ever-conflicting points of view with little regard to communal input. Of course, some developers value public input more than others--they're human too. It's true that a lot of the problems come from the small size of SS, but a lot of others come from how unchanging the game is. A lot of people have invested a lot of time and money, and continue to do so, and turning them away is a large and serious risk.

It's going to take a real change of direction to grow the unique active monthly players.
