Well we decided to go ahead and try the UDP connection on the live server. In the options menu of the new client, you can revert to a standard TCP connection if you have any trouble. Please provide feedback in the development notes if you notice poor performance or an improvement in your gameplay experience. We are still trying to work out a problem that is adversely affecting server performance though, so that will probably dwarf any possible noticeable (un)improvements in the network connection. |
