Inspired by popular UIs from several games, the <name> UI boasts dynamic in-game customization, a modular design, and a clean look!

Features wrote:

    Modular Design
  • Completely independent files in the UI Folder allow future modders to easily replace parts of the UI, while keeping others!

    Edit Mode
  • A unique feature enabling UI customization when enabled, which allows full resizing and moving of all UI components. When you're done, turning off edit mode locks elements so you don't accidentally interact with them when the action gets fast!
  • Right clicking element regions in edit mode enables or disables them, so you can hide what you want!

    Nearly Full Screen Clickability
  • When edit mode is disabled, several elements become click-through and partially transparent, allowing you to take control of most of your screen and maximizing your clicking range!

    Right-click Functions
  • Shitty mac mouses beware, right clicking unit frames will bring up a context menu with relative commands such as 'Squad Invite', 'Kick', 'Promote to Squad Leader', etc!

    No Collisions
  • No more colliding wormhole boxes with your chat, no more struggling to read target information!

    Combat Inspired Design
  • The Squad Unit Frames are perfect for Elec Engineers and Shield Monkeys to keep track of their squad, drones, and slaves and quickly target them with a click of the mouse! No more struggling to click through a cluster of ships, or trying to find your mouse in the whitewash of Pretender Heph.!

Updated the original post!

    Play Mode and Edit Mode
  • Play Mode: Locks the UI in place, unable to customize anything.
  • Edit Mode: Shows all objects on screen (hidden and visible) in a debug-like mode. Regions are created so you know what the total size of all the elements are, and the mode also enables resizing, moving, and enabling/disabling of components! See here for a screenshot!
    Modularity
  • Can remove and replace UI components with stuff made by other modders with zero hassle! All objects are completely independent!
    Scalable
  • Supports resolutions as low as 1000x720!
    Increased Clickability
  • Most of the UI in play mode is now click-thru and partially transparent, giving you a lot of your screen back, and maximizing your range!

I'm really looking for more feedback from regular players on what they like (and especially don't like) about my current designs! I suppose admins/devs can voice their opinions too. ;)

In the next update, I'll be showing a first look at my envisioned Squad Unit Frames and what they are really about!

Reminds me a bit of Bartender on WoW, which was actually not only great...but kinda fun to fool around with :P

I for one am amazed and impressed. Looking forward to providing more hooks in the future so that people can do even more crazy things with the UI if they want.

The ability to move and lock any frame independently, on command, is a must IMO.

Hm, perhaps in addition to the edit mode (only way you'd be able to see/re-enable your hidden UI elements), I could add separate locks on everything? Or better yet, in the future when possible, add a shift+drag (for example) to override the lock on single elements?

No an edit mode should be fine, I just meant nobody should have to go into the SS files on their computer. I should have said something user interfaced.

But this is going to be one of the many things that make SS better than WoW. In WoW you need a bunch of addons to get your screen just right. In SS if a "move anything" addon was built into the game it will allow players to move elements around the screen to their liking, not forcing them to adjust to the way the developers wanted it.

EVE has a really intuitive UI that fits the bill nicely. Can drag to resize or lock any UI element.

At the same time, EVE's UI is also very crazy!! I'm going to try something similar, but a little more clean and easy on the eyes!

My goal is to have everything as intuitive as possible, no learning curve!
