I would like to think the line "excuse me but can I get a shitpost?" is fairly polite.

Those models are SOOOOOOOOO much more detailed than the current ones. Even though they're 2D they look so much better. This is actually the main reason I left SS for 3 years  couldn't stand the downgrade.

Do you know why SS uses the shitty C2 graphics and models despite the fact most players dislike them? The admins didn't have enough common sense to ask. Market Research 101: Ask people.

The models look detailed because they are static images (Sprites) which take up far less space than a high poly model.

The admins COULD put in extremely high poly models along with high poly textures, it would probably cause the game to be unplayable unless you had a dedicated gaming computer.

They have to balance aesthetics with gameplay. I think it might be worth their time to give people the option of playing in "Extreme" mode, which would be optionally downloadable and would allow people to play with extremely high quality.

Once they put in orthographic camera mode I was more or less satisfied with C2. It's a good compromise between those of us who miss the C1 camera and models and those who like the new dynamic lightning and depth.

Basically, Kane is saying they miss the sharpness and fullness of the old C1 graphics. I think the usage of shadows and crap are an improvement..but those textures look so low quality, even on Very High.

Not to mention the flatness of some models. I expected ships like Lion and Zebra to have their "wings" open and expand not unlike X-Wings from Star Wars.
