Allow me to further elaborate, the List= button is for people who want a different type of list. Depending on whether you want a bulleted, numbered, or lettered list you will fill in your preference after the equal sign, and your list will be altered like so:

You notice there is a
button as well that will add in a topic line to your list. Nothing is broken, you are just not using the buttons correctly.
So to make an ordered list correctly it should look like this;
