Hybrid Selens require p2p. Since the alts are simply being leveled, you can abuse the system of being f2p (aka not paying) to level a bunch of alts and then make them p2p, potentially losing SS a couple months worth of subs per account.

Thus, normal T17 Selens are fine.

Shrimp(+) slaves are best used when you're using a weapon with high EPS and have on demand healing. Requires p2p. Paladinofdoom had some badass Shrimp+ slaves with Primal Lincins way back in the day. But those slaves' character was a ShM with a PRR.

Hybridizations are intended to be all about the +1 Tech Upgrade. The 1 speed, 10 hull, minor regen bonus, and all the penalties are used to keep the powerpoint value of the ship the same as the original, lower tech counterpart. It doesn't really make much sense on ships like the Panther when you have ships like the Ares War Chariot(+) that smash it into the ground. And this is completely disregarding Tech 22.

Yeah, but look at how awesome the Selen Hybrid is. Granted it's losing a 40% resist for these bonuses, but... it gets 7 speed, 90 hull, and a shield regen bonus.

Well obviously a Lion is going to be a better slave... it's a Lion. But if you're afk leveling alts, odds are they don't have RC20...
