Not sure if you are trolling or just not making sense.

Think he's trying to say +33.45% and -25.00% cancel out?

im trying to make a calc for stuff in excel for bases and stuff and tried to use this guide
it might be my misreading or something is wrong with the resist calculation it basicly says 1 - (damage taken / ( (tweaking bonus + 1) + aug bonus ) / ( (tweaking bonus + 1) + aug bonus ) ) * 100 = resist in % for a minor aug, AT 25, no IT/EC and no resist on ship it will be 1 - ( 1 / ( ( 1 + 1 = 2 ) + 0.1 ) = 0,48 / ( ( 1 + 1 = 2) + 0.1 ) ) * 100 = 77.3 that means a minor aug with AT 25 gives 77.3% resist on a ship with no resist i didnt want to make a whole new topic about it while this was still here _________________ Valkyrie300 wrote: You need to thoroughly think before sprouting exaggerated statements |

Well, let me try to fix your problem. I think you are misreading something because what you have written is WAY more complicated than what I wrote on the first post. Minor Resistance Augmenter gives +10%, so what you will get with no AT and no hull resistance is
1 - (1 / (1 + 0.1) ) = 1 - 0.909 = 0.091 = 9.1% resistance. Aside from all this, I strongly encourage you to list aug bonuses as absolute numbers and not as percents in your spreadsheet. It will save you a ton of work with your formulas and make things much easier to work with in the long run. So you'd write 0.1 instead of 10 for the aug bonus above, for example. _________________ Hi, I'm Anil, a long-time player turned developer. Why do all mathematicians speak a foreign language?

I PMed enkelin once and inquired about this thread he walked me through it and eventually I semi-understood it, but damn that man has patience. I felt like he would pop up any moment and mercy kill me for my retardation, but he just kept tolerating my ignorance.
