Post Guide to not being scammed
As it is right now, we have a flow of new players comming in, and no new system to fundamentally make scamming impossible.

The traditional toss item/give money method only works if you take such precautions:

1. Never trade an item you cannot afford to loose to a player less than level 100 who has not properly identified his main character.

2. If you are significantly higher level than the person you are trading with, demand that you receive payment before tossing, no exceptions. This should give assurances to both parties, assuming no one wants there high level alt to be marked as a scammer.

3. If the person wants to pay you through a "money alt" take as many screen shots of the trade, and demand payment first.

This game does not revolve around credits at the higher level, rare items are better to keep than to sell, because one day you will probably end up using it.

If anyone has something to add ill update the original post.

Just give away your items and all your credits. They can't scam you if you have nothing!

Apotheosis guide recommends asking the other trader to go first。If he agrees hes not a scammer。 However in many cases this does not work because the other trader may be afraid of being scammed himself。 So in the case that he refuses to go first, follow the procedure below:

1)If your giving away money:
Give half your money first then take the item then give the rest of the funds

2)If your trading an item:
Ask for half the money then drop the item then ask for the rest。

Whether the other trader agrees to this or not gives a definite answer to whether you should proceed with the trade or not。

The half-and-half method is completely pointless. If they're scamming you for credits they'll just take the first half. I remember some guy scamming Trevor for 30b just by offering to sell him an Emp aug for 60b using the half-and-half method.

Its better than being scammed the whole sum of cash/the item without any money. That's why you should first ask them to go first, and if they dont, try the half and half method. Another tip: Try doing it in an unprotected galaxy and if hes too strong, get a friend to overwatch (preferably in a stealthied ship) so if he tries to take off, kill him.

What do you gain from killing him? Can it get you your item back? No. >.<
