its not even needed for linux, since any respectable linux user will know how to make it himself :P. Mac, well, i guess Mac user arent as computer litterate in average, but even so, its pretty much as simple as typing a 1 line command before starting the game and connecting to 127.0.0.1

So like 10 years down the track when ss has a player base of 50 million, you'll release it for Linux and Mac? :P

Okay, with c2 on my mac, I'm having ss flash through what appears to be layers, or something.
It makes ss impossible to play and have been happening to me ever since the december 26th patch.
I tried re- dl-ing ss. No help...
Advice?

I got Star Sonata 2 to work wonders on my MacBook Pro. Downloaded wine, and downloaded Star Sonata, which automatically opened itself in Wine and a few minutes later I was up and running. Everything is amazing, now I just need to figure out how I can right-click...

Which version of wine did you use?

Just my two cents..

C2 is running fine on my Ubuntu 11.04 install. I'm using the stable Wine build and the stable fglrx driver for my ATI 5830 from the package repository.

The only problem I've noticed with C2 on Wine is that the hashing of all files takes a LOOONG time. FPS is comparable to C2 on Windows even with desktop compositing turned on.

That's something i've also noticed on my macbook, the hashing takes a good 20min for me.

make sure you dont press the show details button during hashing and it should be decently fast (it take less than 1min on my linux test machines, where as, with details shown, it takes over 10mins XD (its a bug with the wine implementation of the rtf editbox used to display the logs).

Oh XP That's my problem. I think to myself "why is this taking so long" and click on the show detail every time!

I installed SS but was having a hell of a time with SeLinux and the sound driver.

The sound driver is not something related to ss tho. Its your wine install which lack it (or lack configuration for it).
