Post space points
I think there's a lot of potential in the referral system, but the current incarnation of space points seems to be inherently flawed. As was established by poll, the average forum-goer subs two accounts, which says to me that most p2p don't have a problem getting their accounts subbed. On the other hand, the demographic that might actually benefit from space points, f2p, are never going to be able to keep an account subbed indefinitely using space points alone, and presumably don't have the means to sub with their own money.

The way to reward paying players is to give them something money can't readily buy. Let us turn in space points for ship visages, imperial seals (?), maybe even a 6th character slot for those who don't have one already. I also think the payoff for successful referral should be restructured. The current system is as follows:

- 1 month, you get 1 space point
- 3 months, you get 2 space points
- 6 months, you get 4 space points
- 12 months, you get 8 space points.

with no additional space points after the first subscription. This is a bit of a red herring though, since hardly anyone is going to pay more than a month's sub off the bat for a game they've just tried out (I would think). If you want to encourage players to bring in new, long-term subscribers, make it so the referring player receives space points for the first few renewals as well as the initial subscription. For example, 1 point at the start and every three months thereafter, for the first year.

No...it would have to be much more. If a space point equals a one month sub(cannot recall)...then it would need to be around 6bil.

Maybe it would scale with the level.
For me, 1b per would be okay.
For you, like, 20b per would be reasonable..
mebbe it would be:
[level]*[between .5b and 2b]=money/space point

I believe there is going to be a custom ship graphics available soon* that will require space points to purchase.

*Soon does not specify a certain amount of time and may vary from next week to 29 years from now.
