Post Prog Cylinder
Lets see:

Size: 78 / 64
Range: 310 / 260
Recoil: 1.2 / 1.2

Weight: 78k / 64k
DPS: 198.33 / 105.00
DPE: 0.49 / 0.49
Tech: 18 / 18
Requires: Nothing / Seer class 18, gives forced thrust+turning for 0.1 second
Obtained: Drop from rosies / Built from 2 LCs and some cash and a few commods

Am i the only one who can see that it needs a beef?

Suggested stats:

Damage: 250x2

Range: 250
Recoil: 2 secs
Energy use: 350
Weight: 70k
DPS: 250

Damage type: Surgical
Type: ETHEREAL PULSE WEAPON

Still BP built, maybe add some higher costs, anything to make it useful!

Prog Cylinder: Change stats to make it a MD-like weapon thats surgical damage. Side effect is that it has a long term Grem effect.

Compared to an actual MD...
Advantages:
It is Surg Damage
It Grems...hard
It reduces enemy ROF

Disadvantages:
It does less raw damage
It requires Seer20 and sm20 to obtain

If needed, build costs can be increased or decreased to fit the balance sheet.

Churchill, what you're suggesting is not what i want the prog cylinder to be, i think it should stay the way it is, a 2 bullet weapon like the LC, just improve the stats, dont make them worse then what the LC has.

The problem is that seer is not a traditional dps class. I'm not saying it can't be one, but the basic seer isn't not a dps platform.

The PCyl seems...well, it ain't for dps, it ain't for DPH, and the grem is found on the Gremcannon series. A Greminvoker will beat the living crap out of this weapon for gremming.

I'd figure the Prog Cyl actually grem as well. But it's pretty much a glorified Hairsprayer. Actually, looking at it compared to a Hairsprayer...it IS a Hairsprayer, with doubled the grem time, 0.3s faster ROF, and surgical damage...all for doubling the size, lowering the range, and lowering the dpe.

I'm not sure why a built version of any weapon would ever do less DPS than the original. Make it have the same stats. Plus grem.

Why it is the way it is, is because both the LC and the Prog Cylinder have the same power level on the balance sheet, and the grem takes a big chunk of points.

Imo, no weapon built from a predecessor should ever have the same amount of power points as the thing it was built from.

All it needs is its damage raised, maybe to 150x2?

Still not a good enough beef.
I made a mistake before. The Hairsprayer has 5x the grem power as the ProgC. So, now the only two bonuses over a HS is the surg type and the oh so slight increase in ROF.

Comparing the 'new' stats of the ProgC...to a PWA Gamma, and even if the Gamma is neurobound, the Gamma beats the living crap out of the ProgC.

The Gamma...while is a beam...is smaller, lower tech, has 2x+ damage, better DPE, less weight, more range, is ethereal, cannot be lost if you happen to forget/lose all your GG16's, tracks better, and has a nifty -15% shield charge effect on the target.

The advantages of the Prog is that it has far better ROF, and can grem for 0.1 second per bullet per hit.

Is the grem really worth that much on the weapon? You can do 0.5 sec grem per bullet per hit with the HS.
