In almost every situation i've found, AI running away serves absolutely no purpose but to annoy the hell out of all non-SD people. Remove it. All of it. For the Love of adum, please.

More like, when you fight Ares, and you collision hit Deimos to 10% shields, he should not be running 5k out and sit there until he feels like coming back.

The reason most players dont complain about ai running is because they decimate the AI before the code even kicks in. But low level players can do what exactly? Follow it? Hope its shields don't completely regen before they catch it?

When fighting SBB's on my new engineer on C2, It pretty much goes like this:
SBB attacks from out of the blue Lay Drones spend 1-2 minutes getting SBB to 10-20% SBB runs away Cant catch it, it escapes SBB comes back 5 minutes later for round 2. Rinse, Repeat. It's not immersive, it's not fun or entertaining, it's just damn annoying. Sure, have a specific AI that has that behavior; that would be fine. Meh i never had trouble levelling any of my toons and im sure most ppl didnt, ai run away in almost all games i have played. Tough titties.

It's not that its challenging, it's that it's annoying. People just avoid areas that are annoying, making them just a waste of coding.

This is why copper, protoplasmica, and certain dgs are so good for leveling. Because they have a lot of AI in a small area, and they don't run away!
