Post Connector specific base
T9. Reqs t20 all core skills and size 500k per kit wt 1
Sold in FM/sol

stats 90% resists to all
One inbuilt wep strong enough to 1 shot any lvl termite. Range 600? Low dps in comparison.
Inbuilt t20 gear so it takes at least t20 in everything to drop. Very very good exterm builtin.
Aug slots 0
Unattached kit

-inbuilt hydro and mre??? Idk if having hull would make this abusable. Might be used as a trade base if not careful. Locked hull/nonequippable extenders?

-Bases will soon be able to target specific bases. eliminates abusing its resists. Mites use mining dmg? Maybe whatever dmg type mite doesn't use give it high vulnerabilities to.. Long as ai won't thrash it.

I've left out details, but something like this would be helpful.

Uses only ONE Base slot.
Team is limited to 5 Connector Bases.
Only ONE Connector Base per gal.
Must be able to be destroyed by owner.
If a gal has a Connector Base then it can NOT have any other bases.
A gal with a Connector Base will have limited Drone slots (TBD).
Connector Bases are NOT Healing bases, that should be left to Drones.

Yeah I like the idea.

Why limit to 5 bases? From my understanding, it would be able to fend off ai, but any player would smash it easily.

But yes, absolutely 1 base slot.

If all the base gear is pre-determined, then it wouldn't even need workers or any hull. Just give it say 5000 space for rats only, and set the rate to use up 1000/week. So it requires some effort.

No workers = no need for rats.

I don't like it. If teams want to take larger amounts of space they accept the responsibility of having to use more baseslots on more connector galaxies... If they need more base-slots for defense in their actual galaxies they should compress their territory.

My personal opinion is no. Teams already take way too much territory and it would only make that worse ! :P.

Now as far as a dev opinion goes, thats content and i prefer to never touch content !.

No, there is no need to add this. T 16 or 18 base can keep connector gal owned easily.

Strangely enough I was having some thoughts about connector systems earlier.

What do you guys think about being able to own a galaxy without placing a base in it. The downside would be that they would be very easily unowned by anyone at war with you.

I'm not sure if its a good idea or not but maybe it'll help discussion. I don't think anyone is happy with connectors as they are, correct me if i'm wrong please.

I hold 8 connectors. They're just an annoyance. If a player can outrange it and blow it up quickly I'd be for it. And like jey objected. Long as it isn't used to easily expand team territory bonus then. It's about the same as adon z gear, you can hold a gal with that. The 500k size is prohibitive from mass mass exploitation if any does exist. T9 makes bit more sense than t0 etc. And maybe add ik20 to requirements or ruin lore req. ATM I'm wasting close to 50 base slots just on connectors. I'm not alone in my team either.
