Instead of ideas such as GG dropping parts/bounties/etc
either Bonuses/Gear/Special galaxies or dgs LOCKED to your glory, you cannot obtain/do/go to/receive boosts without a certain level of glory. glory is a skill that isnt used much and this could add quite a bit of usefulness to it. Notes: Glory skill in sol needs to be removed, otherwise this is a skill similar to IK. Glory gain/loss ratio is should be about .5 (if you kill someone they lose [X% of a glory point *1] and you would you receive [X% of a glory point *.5] ) to avoid the ability to transfer glory between alts/players. (if there is any)Gear should not be mission-based as then you can obtain the gear, then transfer your glory to an alt and then he doesnt have to pvp/level as much So far i can see this system as fool proof if the changes i suggested are added in.... it would be nice to see some extra non-essential to gameplay ships in exchange for a glory level/requirement such as the NYAN CAT ENGINE _________________ Last edited by IrishKnight on Wed Dec 21, 2011 10:23 pm, edited 1 time in total. |

Easy to make a "whipping boy" alt and have your entire team kill it repeatedly for glory. Or if you make it work like the Elo rating system (link) then there simply won't be enough people to kill near or above your level to kill. This might be feasible for a real MMO but not with our current player base, I think.
Matters are further complicated by the fact that its easy to kill someone while they're in a scoutship, which isn't exactly a glorious thing to do... _________________ Hi, I'm Anil, a long-time player turned developer. I can't think of any way to have wars in which an aggressive team starts it without the concept of the ship also blowing up when a player dies.

It's an interesting concept, but one that won't fit our small playerbase as Enkelin stated.
