If you look in Wildspace map you see alot of massive gaps with no team ownership. I suggest you make the map smaller the size of EF space again or just a bit smaller enough for conflict. It was fun fighting over galaxies but now everything is just too easy.

/signed. Steam won't happen for months (if not years) so I don't think we should be balancing anything around what possibly outcome the steam release might have on the playerbase (who knows, it might be a massive flop).

Anyway, there would likely be a uni's lag time between any Steam-based influx of players and a need for more room in Wild Space. New players don't grab a lot of contestable territory.

There should be a fairly simple historical data that could be used each reset using the number of active players to create a Wild Space of sufficient size.

It doesn't even have to be that complicated. Near reset they can just take a gander at how many unowned gals there are in WS and tune it up/down a bit. A bit offtopic, but I'd love to try some different universe layout, for example galaxy hubs:
Attachment: unihubs.png I think there were a suggestion ages ago to introduce galaxy hubs like this. Would be fun to try it for a uni or two. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. |

I don't. Just makes a team have to throw all their defenses in a few gals and claim dozens behind that without needing any kind of fortification.
