Im not sure ive seen a suggestion like this, but could extra shields (aquired from tweaks whether inbuilt or trans) remain as a sort of "overshield" type effect?

Kind of like a buffer almost, its there, but you can start regening shields until you are back under your "Shield Cap"

This does happen already, but those shields that are over your current max decay extremely quickly.

Though, i am aware of the current systems functions.

That is the basis for this post, to change the current system to allow the overshields to stay without "Self Depletion". This way Tweaks, super items, and weapon effects can get a much more effective use from how they currently function.
