Timers for all the things!

Countdown timer In hotbar for tweak remaining time.
Timer in hotbar and / or main play area for drones (+ fighters?) remaining lifetime.
Onscreen countdown somewhere for timed missions - only last 60 seconds and only in event log is kinda sucky.

A buff bar like other games have to show a little picture of what the buff is and a timer of how long it has left. You mouse over it and it tells you what it is. Could see when you're in range/out of range of auras. Could replace the auras flying around your ship since that can cause lag in large quantities, then lagkiller kicks in and removes them anyways.

Drones/Fighters could have a time ticker on their portrait on the posessions bar. That might have to make the posessions bar a little bit bigger so you could see it a little better. If posessions were about the size of regular hotbar buttons or perhaps about 25-30% smaller, That'd be great for having a timer or a countdown on them.

I love the idea but I honestly have little hope for any UI features after Caly left. Even that C1 UI is still not finished, that project just got abandoned when it turned out to be harder than first anticipated.
