I think the current issue stems from the slow increase in resistances over the years, and the switch to regen based ShMs over bank.
With such high resists and bank on most chars now, Seers have to do enough damage to overwhelm the ShMs healing. This means you have to output like 500k-1m dps as fast as you can to do 200k damage through resists, and that means you gotta verv.
The "peck and hide" strategy doesn't work against the current playerbase. I don't see a way to fix that without making Seers OP or nerfing everyone into the ground.
