That seems a bit alarmist, wouldn't you say.

Honestly i hate to be this guy but if mods get removed or drastically changed I'll rage quit

I've spent years and absurd amount of creds modding gear to get several of my characters to where they are at right now. Which is cool for me cause i have the resources to do so. But what about that guy with just one character and 200-500 bil income a uni?

Not so much. Removing mods would not remove the actual items. People would simply re-bindo all their stuff.

How will people simply rebindo their stuff when mods are removed. o.o

Apparently I had trouble comprehending what this suggestion was about.

the question is probably more would you then trust admins not to have to reset that new modding version eventually also due to some bug? going on past experience I would have to say no.

We can easily make it worthwhile. For example you get 3 gem slots that are color coded. Red gems are all dps increasing ones such as RoF and damage increase, yellow are passive mods such as hostility, crit chance, crit strength, radar etcetera and then blue gems could be utility increase such as increased shield bank, range, elec regen and shield regen

This kinda made me think about Path of Exile's gem socket system, where every base SKILL gem could be linked to augment gems, that could make the skill multishot, chain, strike several times increasing Attack speed majorly, among other things, and due to that every single build was unique and viable to an extent if specced correctly and you got the right unique equips. A system like that would be a bit awkward in SS- at least how i imagined it, but the thought was pretty neat nonetheless.

Imagines a seer with some kind of multistrike fire a sudden burst of lasers and have it count all of the hits for its unseen effect

Can we actually do this? I want to see what happens.

What Blizzara said. Removing the mods doesn't remove the items. The point is to put everyone on an even footing and prevent the absurdity that you get with the current system. We can keep the neurobound tag or whatever to remove items from the market, but the point is to prevent people with massive excess resources from beating the crap out of people who may be on their level, but don't have the resources.

Content would have to rebalanced again as mods give a huge amount of power to setups. If this was done I could see it happening.

Assuming content was actually balanced with the idea everyone was modded in the first place.

The majority of the content was not balanced around people being modded. Probably just Kalthi Depths/Timotheus/High Prophet.

After all the time, money and effort I've put into getting better mods I wouldn't support anything like this unless it means I'm not worse off, and if I am only by a small amount. A lot of the endgame players feel this way.

I don't want to be in an even footing, I want to put in a shit load of time and effort to get my chars ahead of the game. What would be the point in me in amassing resources , i.e. Playing seriously, if not to be above those who are lazy and do not.
