You can go back to era of 800x600 and have sun fill your screen.

I don't think many people would like it if I had actually increased the size of the star by a lot. It's already pretty massive - more so would just be annoying and increase the distance between everything. Would have to make it a dead end gal then...

In C1 the Sun was huge, so were the planets i guess. Just a cultural suggestion is all =)

It's just one galaxy and as Church said, you can find bigger suns when you're just in a random galaxy.

Gargan is meant to be a showcase galaxy, it's filled with oversized ships, oversized asteroids, missions for oversized gear. A large wow-factor comes from the sun being enormous. If you're worried about it taking too long to traverse just add a speed aura to the sun that affects everything in the galaxy.
