Post Solar pannel revamp
I think that the way solar pannels are working at the moment is very out dated.
At this moment, Light Fighters can barely fit any solar pannels, both becouse of their average ship size, and low hull space. And as you know, solar pannels are proportional to the ship size

So, id like to propose a way to make it so every ship could perhaps benefit more from solar pannels, becouse i dont think it is fair that some ships get to equip 30+ Solar Pannels, having huge bank setups and 2k+ elec with no elec augs, while others have little to no benefit.

So, to the suggestion, have in mind that these are just general ideas, they don't have to be exactly like this, or like this at all.

Make it so low reflectivity ships have higher solar pannel efficiency
Make it so hull space is also a factor for solar pannels
Make it so faster ships have higher efficiency too

I vote no. The current system makes sense, to use a solar panel you need free space that it can occupy to absorb radiation to convert to energy. It makes perfect sense that smaller ships can't use as many, and I see no good reason we would change it.

The reflectivity thing doesn't make sense either. Your ship isn't a solar panel. And honestly a high reflectivity ship would probably better utilize a solar panel since it would reflect more, otherwise missed, light onto the panels, rather than the ship just absorbing and dissipating the radiation itself.

Large ships have massive footprint and it's hard to dodge bullets etc. It's only fair ships like Flamberge and Voulge have something going for them. I find it balanced and fine the way it is.

One could argue that every freighter and some heavy fighters are like that, so every one of these ships deserved huge ammounts of elec from solar pannels, or "have something going on for them"

Yeah. And light fighters have additional aug slot instead of those solar panel slots.

Anyway difference between panel slots isn't much always. AWC and PW both have 9.

I'd be in favor of getting rid of the link between ship size and solar panels. Currently theres ships that are so small you cant even tell what it is when you're zoomed out :(

I think the Solar Panel slots system could use a much more reasonable metric to determine how many panels a ship gets.

I would like to point out that the solar panels on the wiki are twice the value in game because they nerfed solar panels. Perhaps instead of making a whole new mechanic, you could simply un-nerf the panels, thus requiring half as many panels. If you feel larger ships have to much elec, perhaps decreasing the number of panels per ship type while returning the panel values to their old levels. This would help light fighters (who are not going to max panels anyway), and limit larger ships which will max panels.

They didn't get nerfed. The tool tip used to display the regen in a per 2 second basis which is now per 1 second.

Do not touch solar panels.

They are fine as they are now!
