First, ty enk, this is something i have been advocating for a very long time and am exceedingly grateful it is finally making progress.

http://wiki2.starsonata.com/index.php/AI_Ships_by_Level

If you look at that table, you will notice a very large hole around level 150-200. Now, Mira and Jungle ostensibly fill this hole, but they are going to get very crowded when steam releases, and i would like to preemptively reduce some of the pressure. Can we use the Urqa as "Termites" in Ef W2 and leave them the normal XP for their level? Any one who has done Liberty knows swarms of small ships will kill even a mid level player, and the last time i checked fire damage stacks the same way other parasite damage does.

Further, this would plug the leveling gap, on top of adding significantly to the story line. Currently, you hear about the Urqa once in Nexus, once in Mira, and then they disappear until Iqbana. With this system, the Urqa would represent an immediate threat players have to deal with nearly from the beginning of the game, while representing a serious problem for players trying to base in W2.

The overcrowding in Mira and Jungle is going to become a serious problem post steam, even if this is implemented. We should take preventative measures as soon as possible.

If someone is willing to put in UrQa termites for the EF layer, that'd be great. They'd take some balancing, though.

The problem is termites don't aggro players. Farming levels would be easy as fuck because mounds would sit there like vending machines popping out XP for players. And you could effectively fight a swarm of 50 of them without threat, just kill them one at a time.

I think a better idea would just be to add AI at that level.

Ty again enk. Please remind any naysayers on the dev team that UrQa are completely immune to lazer damage, which means anyone building cannot use the standard base gear. They have to build and equips mag's and pulses's.

They do get aggro to players now.

Yes to UrQa termites! Would actually feel like they are invading...

On a side note, why can't we have Zaphragi/Aveksaka termites while we are at it? They are also invading jerk-face races.

Anyway, ./signed on UrQa termites, just as long as they look cool. :D

I was planning on making a Beta/Gamma Space Blue zone and involving the UrQa in that zone (I think it was you who mentioned a Beta/Gamma zone similar to Blue Outpost? on old Discord), though I don't have any idea when I might actually do that (I was thinking perhaps closer to the end of this uni when I can figure out if I have time for it without delaying current work). Trust me, I want the UrQa to be everywhere, and they will be given some time!

Urqa termites would be nice as they used to be the main bad guys in SS. So would be awesome to add them all over the place for immersion.

UrQa invasions in Earthforce Space against bases. Sounds fun.

This is a good thing.

Oh, also, forgot to add as well, there are UrQa roamer spawners on the wormhole to Mira (reason why I constantly insist Hober leaves Mira alone instead of add it to Paxius), if you aggro the roamers you can set up perma drones and bases outside Mira to try to tank and kill their swarm. Was a lot of fun to set up some random defenses and see if they'd still be alive the next day.

Doesn't need to be off Paxius then... just not on a different damn layer.
