I had an idea a while back which could be applied to this. Can't find the post so I made a new one with a rough outline: http://forum.starsonata.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=62893

Could make it so players with inhibitors can't assist players without them.

Sneak attacks are impossible once you engage. The team gets spammed about assets under attack.

Maybe that team is offline but has allies, or random pirates will come fuck with the operation.

I'm aware that this was brought up, but I personally find both concerns to be quite unrealistic in the current and foreseeable climate of the game.

There has only been two successful military alliances in the entire history of the game.
->United Sonatian Alliance of Sheilds, pantalones, Light Commerce, The Forgotten Colonies, Traders, and Resident Evil (before they were persuaded to switch sides).

Death Mental/Torchwood is the same concept as Traders/Dark Traders and Strawberry/Blueberry.

->Eminence Front and Strawberry Pancakes.

There has only been four significant scenarios where a third party engages a team independent of the team's current enemy.

->Core vs Zephyr vs Eminence Front, but where Core and EF were not allies and attacked for different reasons.

->Progress vs Death Mental vs Light Commerce; Progress and LC were not allies. DM was at war with Progress because of Sodomy, and at war with LC because of continuing USA conflict.

->Strawberry Pancakes vs The Forgotten Colonies vs Light Commerce. During the LC-TFC civil war, SP struck at TFC with minimal resources and killed off half their space; when SP pulled out because of boredom, TFC really struggled to kill Ryan's assets. Then DoW humiliated TFC by capping Ryan's shop with two characters when TFC failed to kill with 12.

->TFC/TUC used the semi-independent non-allied team of Heaven to strike at pantalones, in order to find a "proper" reason to strike at xceltic's pantalones.
->->Later, TFC/TUC abused EF's ceasefire mediation to catch pantalones with their pants (puns!) down and that resulted in a three way beat down from the remnants of pantalones, and the fully built up Eminence Front and Traders.
