Post More specialized classes
Currently classes have redundant stats aren't played how they were intended. For example fleet commander has fighter stats that people currently do not use. So I suggest that a new class that stems off the fleet focus to be made called "Carrier" this class gets no weapon bonus stats, cannot use bots or drones but it gets increased stats to missiles and fighters with class unique launchers and bays that give stats to the missiles and fighters. As for augmenters I suggest missile and fighter stat augs like engineers have their Offensive, General, Defensive and Everlasting augmenters. This would give players a more diverse way to play than going fleet commander and using bots with no fighters or going gunner to use missiles only and no weapons which makes stats completely useless.

Maybe a better way of going about it would be to have a specialisation skill, of which all classes have maybe 2? Could vary it for different classes. You can only choose one, and you don't have to choose one at all. For example, an FC one could remove all the the fighter bonuses and give it to elec regen/hull if all you wanted was an amp boat.

Maybe but i though combining some aspects of 2 classes from the same focus could give a different outlook, using just weapons, bots, drones, fighter or missiles is kind of boring.

I had proposed as a kind of "outlook specialization" idea to the dev team. It was rejected, in case anyone was wondering.

The premise was to make each class a larger "generic" class, and add item sets to the game that provides specialization towards a specific goal.

The example I liked to use was Shield Monkey, which would be a "holy fighter" thing. Then you have items, ships, etc that point towards:

1. Paladin: Close range bruiser that uses Light-based superitems to harm enemies and boost group utility. Can be DPS (short range), Tank (the superitems make soloing content possible), or Healer (Still short range).

2. Cleric: Long range fragile healer that zips around the battlefield. Has the greatest potential HPS, but the easiest to kill and bosses would be a bit smarter about shooting fragile healers. Clerics also could be retrofitted into long range DPS and have a natural buff to Heat Damage.

3. Necromancer: Medium range "spellcaster" type specialization that focuses on reanimating dead enemies and self-heal through Positive Transference weapons (Deal damage, self-heal weapon effect). Can be DPS (through slaves), Tank (self heal weapons plus typical tank setup makes effective tank despite not many tank stats), or Healer (special items would be able to convert the self heal into group heal//heal other)

All Shms can and should have combat slaves running around, though the necromancer can tap into a special kind called undead slaves (in reality a special kind of prismatic bot and the mechanics work almost exactly like wild slaves)

Personally i think that would be way too diverse for SS in terms of classes. But if the devs allowed my idea or the ability to drop a skill for example on SHM who has* combat bot stats when you aren't going to use bots. It's a redundant skill and it makes me rage so damn hard, i want an alternative choice.

I think Focus classes should share skills, and get a pick of 4 out of 8, So all fleet focus skills are available to get but you can only pick FC/Gunner, and then 3/6 EG. I picked Fleet Commander for the tanky stats ect and then for the sub skills i would choose maybe, Missile Mastery, Destruction and RadX, That would be pretty cool and would open up a bit more diversity besides they way everyone copy/pastes everyone right now
