Post Black Market Economy and Snowflakes
WALL-O-TEXT Inbound.

Imagine my surprise when upon my return I find out that one of my favorite base/colony commods has been removed. Yes I am talking about "Crack Whores".

My first reaction was to think to my self, "WTF the Femnatzi's have struck at SS too. Surely JeffL and Voomy would just pull the always standby /ignore card out and let them talk to the walls" But no, the same infection has swept SS. This infection of pretending reality can be ignored and a "Better More Progressive" version may be substituted in its place.

I keep asking myself what must have happened for a staunch Libertarian, aka classic Liberal. The kind so infected by Jeffersonian ideals as to render one immune from doublespeak, propaganda, fear, and all the other nastiness used by that ilk to push there agenda. Into forcing SS to "modernize", "conform" and "Progress" to a more accepting place. A place that is harmonious with the "correct" group thinking.

For the first time in a long time, I am worried about the State of Star Sonata.

I feel I must state that I am completely against what has transpired. Can things be done differently sure. How about making player/base items that let them only sell typical "legal" items to colonies assuming that base/colony owner wants to go that route, say one for a Pure Capitalists, one for National Socialists, one for Pure Libitarianism, one for Anarchists, each with pro's and con's in how they affect colony growth, stability, and buying power, selling power, military strength's etc....

Lets present ALL types of philosophies, and let the players choose, instead of forcing a single path that all must walk.

They got Renamed "Entertainers" and are still the best item you can sell to a colony....unlike Fine Space Whiskey, which is now an IC commodity. Hate Enk so much for that one.

Counter proposal, make Space Whiskey colony vendible, in addition to Personal Computers, Funky Furniture and Portable Lavatories. To offset this, remove Promethium from the vending list. Balance the prices so this is profit nuetral. THis would give a use for these items other then the handful of builds now and lessen the strain on Prom belts everywhere.

With some crappy and slow slaves, we're pulling 4100 stable prom from one belt. Maybe you should go p2p and build with us?

Crack Whores still exist in the game, so if you have any you can keep em. There are no new ones being created though.

Not the point i was making. I would rather spend prom on something useful, like weapons or station Augs, not shovel it at a colony.

Here's the thing, if you don't want to turn your prom toward colonies, then that's your own fucking problem. Especially if you have a stable 4100, you just sell the entire stack to a large colony every tick, and since it's stable it will come right back... Seriously, do you even fucking know how to build?

Cute. Yes shawn i have a very good idea of how to build, ty. I also like options, and trading 1 iffy source of income for 3-5 solid sources of income takes long strides towards opening up those options.

With shylo running around popping SSB slaves, I think the safer route is to do colonies.

Rendghast doesn't appreciate the main advantage to building together in WS, and that is no smelly competition can muscle you out. He's currently dealing with some enterprises that have the capability to take an asteroid belt and make it theirs.

Huh? What is the new meta? Prom was profitable to sell to colonies at least before ICs.

Please do enlighten us. Prom easily adds a couple hundred mils in profits.

But I am on board with adding more commodities to the selling list on a colony. I mean, it IS a colony. Should be able to sell a multitude of things to one and visa versa.

You can't sell subshield items to colonies. Sure to AI bases, but that's slightly different. We're talking about colonies here.

No you were talking about selling prom to Colonies, which is what I was aiming at when I said that selling prom to Colonies is a waste

Well if you have the spare prom and you're trying to maximize profits... it's not. There's only so many AI bases in your area that you can sell those ICs to. And all the more colonies to sell prom to if you're not using that prom for any builds.
