I just thought that the material cost to build the Capital Armageddon Laser Prototype blueprint was just too high for it to justify the time and amount of materials used to get just 1 blueprint for a weapon that is hardly as valuable as the alternatives.

Specifically the space whisky count: 100mil in total for the blueprint. Granted the blueprint doesn't have a build limit, but nor does is it valuable enough to warrant that kind of cost.

Not sure if the follow ups are the same as well.

I think the cost is fine. These are pretty good weapons for specific applications. And there are something like 4-6 tiers of them considering you can also make red photon upgrades as well.

Most people have mass produced them in the past. With the new extractors and commod rates on planets, should be even easier now.

The build for the lasers is fine, the research is not. 100m Space Whisky. That's a pretty big build. You'll be doing this in addition to Metals/Nukes/Silicon/Baobabs, so for the average person or small team, it's not really feasible unless you grab 5 galaxies, which is 5+ accounts of 3+ characters each.

Wayyy back in the day, Elryk had to dedicate his *entire* team space with 13/15 space oats planets to do the laser research. Still took him most of that universe to do it.
