As an avid Magic The Gathering player, Hearthstone just lacks the depth to make it seem appealing :/
It seems boring to not be able to do anything on your opponent's turn, barring "secrets" lol.

Hopefully they'll add depth later, but as it stands, if Blizzard bought or partnered with MtG or a yugioh-like OCG, there might be a better outlook for the game.

As an avid MTG and Hearthstone player, I think comparing them is difficult since they are entirely different beasts. Some days I'm in the mood for some fast & flashy fun where money is a non-factor; Other days I prefer the massive amount of depth and polish that MTG has. As a side note, I only play Hearthstone arena (draft) and MTG constructed.
