I heard Atlum had a secret project to turn the hamsters into gremlins, although he forgot gremlins are aggro to everything.

The hamsters are actually mutant alien zombie hamsters from Quarkwonhythjuw of the Andromeda galaxy, a planet the size of a meatball. The hamsters got hungry though, so they will be back after the next Resident Evil game is finished.
