Just out of curiosity, who here is currently serving? Who served in one of the branches? Post your experiences, the bad times and the good times.

Don't know too many people on SS who have served.

I know there's DB and Higarian went off and joined the Air Force, but not too sure who else.

Higaran Leader, anubus2112, Col Mills, Neba, Shawn McCall, and Sha-E for US Armed Forces at least one time.

I would hazard a guess that GQ88 was in the Australian military at one point. PhysicalAbuse was part of the Royal Army.

Was just wondering. Myself I just came back from deployment from Afghanistan with the Marines, and joined Immortal Silver. Found out a few members are currently serving as well.

Yeah, Sha-E is essentially a conscript on a destroyer in the middle of the Persian Gulf. He is, while the government shutdown is in effect, expendable. Along with every other soldier, sailor, and airman abroad. All because some people don't like Obama. Can't get anymore pathetic than that. Hate the man too, but I wouldn't throw a temper tantrum and risk my fellow Americans dying to stop Obama. Filibuster should be considered a federal crime.

But yeah, lots of people in the armed service from Immortal Silver.

Nobody is also a Marine.

I'm just pissed that all my friends who serve in my country's armed forces are treated as expendable because one political party doesn't like the other.

They aren't treated as expendable, fool. A bill was passed to ensure that people in the employ of the military continue to get paid and such.
