most likely never. when the media is controlled, the government can spin the story however they like, I.E. "peaceful protesters" become "suspected terrorists". "police detained 150 suspected anti-government terrorists in hong kong today" sounds a hell of alot better than "police detained 150 peaceful protesters in hong kong today using draconian anti-terror laws which allow people to be locked up indefinetly without charge or trial, or any evidence of wrongdoing" these protesters know their democracy is a lie. which is more than i can say for most americans. |
