The distance would be calculated at the time of attempted deployment, so for orbiting planets, you can time your deployment if you want to maximize how far out your base is.

two questions
what's the penalty if base is 15k out, or will it behave like a slave and autocenter eventually? other thing is what happens if it gets tractored out that far by ie not you etc (enemy or teammie alike would be two different issues and depending on what happens to a base 15k out could be useful/harmful depending which side you're on.) |

15K is too short, needs to be at least 25k. As any decent base radar can see kits at ridiculous ranges I think even 25k is too short.

There's no penalty. It just own't let you deploy a base farther out than that. Once you deploy it, you're free to drag it wherever you want, but it's a lot more annoying to drag a base 80k out than it is to fly 80k out and deploy there, so I figure the annoying far out cloaked bases thing will be much less of an issue.

You could afk overnight and drag it out. _________________ |

Your lack of strategic thinking of this game is the reason for this rule methinks. It is not meant to be annoying but it how BvB currently works. You deploy way way far out build a kit and tow it back. Using that kit for cover. By adding this rule you will be dramatically making bvb harder. newly dropped kits can not survive getting attacked by players or bases, by adding the 15k rule you make it easy too easy for a defender. How many times have you had to tow kits into attack range? I've towed kits 35k before just for bvb. It was VERY necessary for that attack as we had players and bases destroying us.

Perhaps implement this when the 2 kits for every owned gal rule is coded?

No. This idea too much favors the Defenders.

This Is pointless unless you 100% dont plan to manualy enforce the rules about the issue. In the end It dont matter because your the end decision not the games code. If you decide something Is not legal eventhough you made It that way you do what you see fit.
