Okay, just tried with one of my other accounts and they're unsubbed too, it hasn't been subbed recently either, I logged onto one of my other accounts that was subbed and it looks like this is a really old save that's been up for a long time...

As for test, there are some sorta funnies possibly going on with the "lose your bonus if you move or stop shooting" thing, i'm testing as we speak.

It's just really funny to me how as soon as i started talking about sniper on the forums, it seems as if everyone has a sniper, and people are making new alts all the time. Before, there was just the general assumption that sniper was crap, and people left it at that.

I never said i wasn't arrogant, but i also try to tell the truth :P

Also, if you seriously have never heard of me, you haven't been on the forums very long -_-

I've been testing it, so far it doesn't seem too broken. Not nearly as powerful as my engineer, for example.

When i first went engineer my mouth was hanging open half the time from how broken i felt, i'm getting...well, i'm getting less of that here, at any rate.

Amazingly, it seems to be pretty well balanced now. A normal sniper using physical weapons will be less powerful than a zerk in the short term, but will possibly become more powerful over the long term, but this is highly dependant on physical weapons.

This means that snipers will be used initially, but zerkers will continue to be the powerhouse class.

All in all, for pve purposes i think that the difference is rather balanced. I have not yet, however, tested out the difference in pvp, but i could assume that it will be fairly balanced there, as well.

One bug is that torps and thoraxes dont get the projectile speed boost.

One little thing that would be handy would be a -5 straight up knockback reduction. Some really weak weapons knock you back by a tiny amount, and its really annoying to have to keep pressing the brake button for 2 speed of knockback every 2 seconds.

All in all, it looks like a lot of people might finally make snipers and use them, and as that's the long term goal, it looks like you've been successful. Let me be the first to say, good work, and thanks for sticking with us through all the annoyingness we can provide.

After some brief testing, I agree with Cyggles.

I don't think PvP can be reliably tested on test server, we'll have to wait till it goes live.

Is analysis in as well? I intend to test that out right now.

Jey has set us up a spiffy new super-fast test server at test2.starsonata.com with a recent copy of the DB and all the latest code. We're probably going to get rid of the old test server at the end of the month since it was having so many problems and still is.

This is my Lion, auged with CaL CaL AoD on test, as Sniper with a Mad Thorax, and Swifty + Maul. Analysis at 65%. Shield Monkey was dead in 3 seconds, and he has 300k shield bank! :P
