There are plenty of diffusers that aren't blowupable, those alone cut off a significant amount of damage without using failable diffuser's.

Plenty??

Laser Dampener+, 55% resist, 1800 size, stable
Urqa diffuser, size 50, 25% resist, stable
Faranji Unt laser dif, unknown but stable

Compressed laser damp+ 28%, stable (MERCH ONLY)

If your a multifire or sniper, the only ship with enough space for both laser damp+ and weps is the thatch, with an initial resist of 0. The laser damp+ then puts the thatch around the same resist as a izer/pax with no laser damp+ (roughly)

Ok, so the thatch can get resists the same as a pax or an izer, meanwhile dealing a WHOLE lot more DPS, and virtually powered forever, when near a sun. It's tech 15, a ship with 5500 hull, 6 augs and you can get at least 55% resists to the damage types you want, those numbers just sound way too broken imo.

The Thatch only has like -60% resist to physical, unless it got changed very recently. It used to be insanely high weakness to phys and heat as well as a couple others, i think, but recently it hasn't....
