Sounds like an awsome idea.

The key point will be balancing it so that at it is doable by a party of three non- uber players :)

I hope the balancing is aimed at the low/ average ability player as there is always a tendency for some players to bolster their own egos by claiming it is too easy, particularly those with the "top of the line" ships and augs.

Seems like 2/3 of the posts on this thread are by people who didn't actually read the first post. We are talking about a ship tech limit AND a gigantic nerf the the AI's in the galaxy for a net effect of an overall decrease to the difficulty.

I think I stopped reading after the tech level restriction

Well if they are going to get nerfed then you might want to add more tech 19 and all level range healing ships.

Edit: I forgot about the new Constable and Warden, scratch that last part

I think rumble1 should be soloable, and R2 nearly soloable (like 2 players). At this stage of the game I think it is unnecessary to make it that players already have to stick together for anything they do...

Thats ok for high level content, but at the time you need R1 and R2 you are still in a process of learning the game, and personnaly at this stage in a game I prefer to be able to do things alone at my own rythm...

Just remember that without app wands/tech 20 ships, healers are like 50% effective... So don't count on a tech 20 lvl healer dealing -1400-2500 DPS, but rather more in the -700-1000 DPS range...

This is a good idea but I hope R1 and R2 will not require 3-5 players now since they can both be soloed by a hotrod and a magcannon or a dm seren quite easily. Only R3 and RM need to be nerfed but the ship tech limits should be applied to all Rumbles because why both doing it urslef when u can get on ur main and pwn it all.

Overall a good idea and I cant fault it so long as R1 and R2 dont become more difficult to match. I just hope that R3 and RM and balanced accordingly and dont require 3-5 Iq'Bana ships + healer as not everyone can afford one... although who needs p20 if u have an Iq'Bana ship anyway.

Umm....I can solo R2 with my level 20 alt....and he isnt even that good....

I have just thought of a possible exploit:

At uni reset a player could enter RM in a locution, dock in RM, and have his T20 ships spawn here... He could then sell P20, or healing...

Hehe or not have any access to his ships, remeber how the no engines thing works? Probably the same deal so if ya want to try it with the probable risk of not seening that Pax, DS, or App Ward again till the reset... hehe

I fully agree with Voom btw. He's made an excellent point.

At first there won't be many people that have iq ships and don't have pilot 20 yet. Because the iq owners are likely ubers with tech20 ships, weps 20 and other stuff harder than RM. But in a few weeks iq-ship owners will just offer their services are RM-Clearers with ships that are up to par if not better than tech20s. Especially when tech20s can do it solo now, an equally good or better ship can easily solo it after the gigantic RM nerf.

On the other hand, why pay if you can actually do it yourself now with a small crew of tech16s and 17s. Let's hope it'll balance out nicely and former tech20s now in tech19s won't be selling RM, cause the game should be about doing your own content and progressing, not capping and buying your skills with it from high level players that are too good for the content you need to do.
