Post Some new restriction on owning galaxies
We have some new code that is going in tomorrow that increases the population requirement to own a galaxy based on the total number of galaxies that your team already owns. First galaxy is 1000 population, second is 2000 population, 3rd is 4000 population, etc.

This is meant as a "soft" way to encourage more smaller teams rather than fewer larger teams.

Protecting a galaxy now requires a total of 15 billion population total in the galaxy.

You should label moving bases to an off team alt to own as an exploit now or that's what will happen. Level 100 StM power!!!

Questions....what about if i place 5 Chars on 5 teams, then i can own a gal with 1k pop then throw them back on the main team

with some math help.....from Poly, to own the 30th Gal....its 1Trillion little over 1 trillion Pop...

i have never seen a Single gal with 1trillion

u need to Rethink

*cry* poly says you will need 1.07 trillion pop to own a 30th gal 1-1000 2-2000 3-4000 4-8000 5-16000 it adds up toooo much after awhile

Stupid move with owning galaxies... you're either gonna have every one leave and rejoin team to own their gals or you're gonna have alot of agro'd gals.

15B to protect sounds like a reasonable plan.

Also you didn't specify far enough down the chain.. does that mean that you will need 32k pop to own the 6th gal? I on my own owned 8 gals last uni, that would be 128K pop... so that is a entire thatch full of rations and peasies and metals?

A LARGE team may own 30 gals... that is what, 1.073*10^12 pop... FUCK OFF!!!

additionally alot of galaxies have 1 planet but it may be rich in resources.. that galaxy has a MAX poop of 12B and a MUCH more likley 4B pop cap.

so a gal with 1 planet and a max pop of 12B and a lower max bound of 4B could be the 24th or 22nd gal MAX

anyway, bad move.

While this is quite interesting, I personally believe the required population increase is way too high here: give a 10k population initial requirement with a +40% increase per owned galaxy on the prevous galaxy requirement.

Yeah, probably a linear progression would be better with just requiring 1000k more for each additional.

For encouraging smaller teams to own galaxies, while its good idea, isn't going to help them very much. If anything its just going to give them 'a little more time' to find and own a galaxy.
