I have been at work (although I am sad to say not as hard as I would like) on the new Engineer and Berserker Content. I read most of the feedback, and am working on addressing many of the issues detailed in the previous post.

A few updates. The Engineer Tweak Factories will come in two varieties to start. Energy and Shield. Each of these tweaks will offer a rather small, but extremely long duration buff to your ship. In addition, I will be adding special Engineer Only tweaks they can create that work like the Shield and Energy salves currently in game. Once again, I'm hoping to see them in a more support oriented role as we implement new content.

Engineer is also getting a specialized support drone via missions in Perpetual Motion. These are one time use drones that heal all nearby party members or drones with a chain shield transfer.


Most of the posts detailing Berserker said they were having problems keeping aggro from AI. To help with this, I have added a line of berserker field generators that increase your threat by a very large amount.

Also, since there was a concern with finding multiples of weapons suited for multifire, the class missions will all include repeatable missions that reward berserker weapons intended for multifire.

Players will also notice a few new galaxies and AI next universe belonging to the Blue Photon Capital Ship Manufacturers. As we have hub galaxies for content related to each hull type, it seems only fitting that capital ship items have a home. As we add more capital ship content, you will be able to expect it here.

Hopefully I can finish up Berserker and Gunner before the next universe reset (which is still TBA), and until then I will try to keep you updated as to what I personally am up to.

Is that an aura just like Undead precense/Zebra's Second Wind let's say? If so it wont be able to equip in a zebra ship since ZSW is unequipable.

Also, it would be nice and fair for berserker to have something that lowers the foe's speed just like annaconda. Atm theres little possible way for a zerker to hit a speed demon(who all of them are broken as hell, have 500-650 hull, fit PoT, go 500+ speed, do more dps than any other skill, and have more dpe than any other skill too in a LF).

aura gen? please dont make it cap ship only.

These DM healing drones better be cheap, and small. It would be upsetting to use a 50mil drone in a dg and get a launching tube as a reward.

Are the chain sheild transferences coming in as well? And can they get big tracking as it is currently almost impossible to heal mobile drones.

Zwi read my mine on this one. :?

But I do like the sound of those Threat Items :wink:

By the way, for the new weapons, it would be great if a selection of the new Zerker specialised weapons were just variants of the Excom, but have different damage types instead of mining. Heat and surgical excoms would be quite cool to see :)

SD's aren't broken. Most SD's can't sustain their high DPS for very long, and if they can, it's because they augged it to do that.... and gave something else up.

If anything is the major issue here for SD's 'brokenness', it's the beef to zeus+ augs, and the huge elec bonus, range, and damage bonuses that it gives.

Not zeus+, alby aug is the broken aug that gives insane range and shield, and more elec then zeus+. Speed demon is given too much thrust and turning that not even an ungodly lust with 13.5% tractoring from a mod can grab them, since they can just run and break it.

Heavy fighter going 300+ seems pretty wrong in my opinion.

SD can sustain dps, i've seen like every sd having 3k range with a ven/merc mag, going 300-450 speed, having 500+ hull, and more shield than my zerker. There's just something fishy about it.

PLEASE say that these cap ships and cap ship gear will be cheaper and less crappy than the EF line? Most gunners use izers atm, because of the stupidly high cost and weak stats of the capital ships.

SD is broken by a few different things, mainly that it is still very easy to be good as SD with a heavy fighter skill wise.

The Zebra:
Theres no viable weakness to it, the only resists that are under 45% is radiation and transferrence, neither of which are used by AI or players for that madder. Has the most hull of all HF's, is 2nd fastest of all the HF's (margin of 5 from the reaver [dont count super phunka]). The mere fact that it has so much space allows people to use Giga GnT's and OS or Giga engines.

The Zeus+ aug:
Stats of Zeus vs Zeus+:
Code:
Zeus (Nov.2007)    Damage +30%, Energy Recharge +36%, Range +5%    19    10
Zeus+ (Nov.2007)    Damage +35%, Energy Recharge +40%, Range +20%    19    9

Differences:
+5% damage, +4% energy recharge, +15% range

Due to the fact that 0% of the energy given by this aug is taken away by other stats on it, it allows for powering of extremely high EPS weapons (such as TT+) at high ROF. The range bonus given from a normal to a + is a bit excessive.

Looked at against the alby aug:
Code:
Shield +60%, Energy Recharge +40%, Vis +125%, Tracking +34%, Rate of Fire +22%, Range +22%

Alby in the end only gives ~25% extra elec (assuming AT 23, IT 3) vs 79% (assuming AT23, IT 3). The range is negligably different from the Zeus+. The ending DPS is +43.56% for the Alby and +69.3% for the Zeus+ (AT23, IT 3). Overall, shields are not that big of deal, due to the fact that a PtE can give just the same effect, if not better if shields are needed. The biggest gain for an Albatross Aug is the tracking it gives, and due to the fact that it is a rare uber drop and requires an even rarer skill to get, it should have a little over the Zeus+.
